Re: Ex Feeder Bassist Attacked on Broadway

Posted by on August 11 at 9:21 AM

I wrote an item in Live Wire recently about a local musician, Michael King, who was allegedly attacked on Broadway a couple weeks back by a driver witnesses say he got into an argument with. King’s family and friends are still looking for more witnesses or anyone who may have more information on what went down. I’m reposting a description of the events of that night/early morning of July 17 below (it was taken from the music forums) in case someone can help these guys out.

"On Saturday night (Sunday morning) July 17th, 2005 at 1:51 am, on Broadway and Denny, next to Jack in the Box, our friend Michael (Mick) King was severely attacked.

Mick is a Caucasian male, about 5'7, 120 (at the most) pounds, with short dark hair, probably wearing a dark tee shirt and jeans with black shoes. He and a friend were crossing the street when they were almost hit by a silver or gray car. Some words were exchanged, and the driver got out of the vehicle and confronted Mick. Mick's friend was able to break up the fight, the driver got back in his car, and Mick's friend turned to walk away. When he turned back, the driver had gotten back out of the car and was beating Mick's head into the sidewalk.

Mick is now in Surgical ICU. He was in a coma for two days, and what is going to happen to him now is still unknown. The driver was not caught, and the police have no leads.

The driver was described as an African American male, about 5'7-5'8, late 20's — early 30's, driving a silver or gray car. There was a woman in the passenger seat, who was either African-American or Asian.

If you or anyone else knows anything about this, please respond immediately, and please re-post this as much as possible. Some one must have seen something, that corner is extremely high profile, especially at 2am on a Saturday.

Thanks so much.
