The Trrill Of It All
One of my favorite new (to me, anyway) music-oriented blogs is Trrill, curated and smartly designed by an original aestheteNick Schollwho happens to intern with The Stranger. According to Scholl, Trrill is “concerned with (among other things) emerging, amateur, and miniature virtuosities in music, queer expression, and sensitive technology.” And opera. Loaded with MP3s and piquant observations about great obscure music (including Paperclip People, Jean-Jacques Perrey, Bjørk, Art Ensemble of Chicago, Matthew Herbert, and Arthur Russell), Trrill is a bonanza of esoteric epicureanism.
