I’m still trying to digest the mindboggling news about phermones reported today. Supposedly, scientists have found that gay men smell like women.I don’t mean they themselves smell like women (well, some do) but that their brains process phermones in the same way. (Considering my last six months of dating, if scent is what determines sexual selection then it’s time to snort bleach.) Inevitably, this story will generate the kind of near sci-fi paranoia among readers of The Advocate that science will try to fix gay men ‘s sense of smell. I’m all for it if that means less cologne.
