Speaking of the Rapture (and Gang of Four, really, if we take a tangent to my secret love for the Rapture song “Out of the Races and Onto the Tracks”), some of my coworkers may know (and disapprove) of my passion for natural disasters. For those of us who can appreciate a little hell on earth, however, I submit the following United States Geological Survey publication, which puts some numbers and percents to the seething mountains us PacNWesterners choose to live among. Washington State has SEVEN volcanoes, and FOUR of them are rated “very high,” threat level-wise. That’s a very high mean volcano/nice volcano ratio.
