They’re rezoning in Brooklyn, NY & it’s causing the same reactionary uproar as Mayor Nickels’ proposed height upzone for Broadway in Capitol Hill. Read the comments at the end of this article.for a sampling. I can’t stand these bourgeois complainers. They all move to Brooklyn thinking they’re entitled to be heirs to some secret community they’ve discovered. Wrong. Reality is, they’ve created a market by moving there. Now the market and the city are responding. That’s the way it works. If their complaint is that the rezone will ruin the “exotic” character of the neighborhood that they colonized, they’ve only got themselves to blame. Listening to people complain about genitrification when they’re the gentrifiers is irritating.
